Back in 2003 we went on a beach vacation with Tracy's side of the family. Upon returning, we learned shortly there after that we were going to be able to adopt a baby boy, whom most of you know is "Owen" or "O" as we call him.
Soon after we moved, to SC and began life in a different role and setting.....once again we put our names on an adoption list, thinking it would be neat for Owen to have a brother or sister. It has been two years since we've been on the list and waiting, and waiting and waiting....During this waiting period there have been times where our book was looked at and the adoption agency has called to inform us that it could be our time...only to find out that we were not chosen a few days later. While painful, this is how life formed itself for us.
Shift gears.....
Being so close to the beach in SC, affords us the opportunity to have lots of visitors! Which we ALWAYS WELCOME!!! (hint hint) Anyway, we recently have been on a beach vacation with Tracy's side of the family yet again...(you may have seen some pics) And a few weeks before the beach vacation hit, Tracy and I were talking about how long we were going to stay on the adoption list...after a long debate we decided that if by the time Owen turned 8 and we still had not adopted, we would take our names off the list.
I remember while being on this beach vacation thinking to myself as I watched Owen and Tracy playing about how good God was and how he has blessed us so much as a family. I remember thinking that I don't deserve to be blessed this much.
The vacation came and went, we got tan, we got to spend time with family and just relax. It was awesome!!!
Speaking of AWESOME, As I was thinking of the ways we have been blessed on this vacation, little did I know that God was going to bless us again in another way.....He is good!
The post below gives you a glimpse of our newest edition "Gabriel (Gabe) James Malloy" He was 10 Days old in this picture.... We have officially had him in our home for 10 days now, so that makes him 20 days old....(good math I know) This first 10 days has been incredible. Things that we had forgotten about when Owen was a baby and how to handle them, had to be unearthed from the vast emptiness of our brains recently...sometimes it took the both of us to try and recall some things. Sometimes it hurt trying to pry that information out of our brains. Lots of sleepless nights for both of us. We have seen Owen transform into a loving brother right before our eyes. We learned that Owen has a kind and loving heart for his little brother in many different ways. I love how Tracy interacts with Gabe and Owen together. We have had our neighbors, our friends and family reaching out and helping in anyway they can...for which we are blessed by them. There is so much going on in my head, I can't get it all out on here. Sorry for the randomness of this message....
I'll have to re-configure the blog again....
Thank you everyone who has prayed, and cried with us along the way....Stay tuned for more updates...
Yah! God is good! So glad to see the ways He continues to bless you guys. Thats awesome that Owen is loving being a big brother right now...lets hope that lasts :) Wish I could meet the little guy. Best of luck. Miss and love you guys!
